Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know

Everything about our online design tool, print techniques, delivery times and orders. Don't see your question? Reach us via WhatsApp or e-mail.

1

Which payment methods do you accept?

You can pay with iDEAL, Wero, Bancontact, Visa/Mastercard (credit card) and PayPal. Card payments, iDEAL, Wero and Bancontact run through Stripe Checkout. PayPal handles its own payment flow. Both are recognised, secure payment providers.
2

Is paying secure?

Yes. We use Stripe (PCI-DSS certified) and PayPal — two of the most trusted payment providers in the world. Your payment details (card, account number) never reach us. Everything is processed encrypted through the secure environments of Stripe and PayPal.
3

When is the payment charged?

Right after you place the order. After payment you receive a confirmation e-mail, and we start the production process as soon as you've approved the digital print proof.
4

Can I pay afterwards?

Webshop orders are paid directly online — we only accept direct online payment (iDEAL, credit card or PayPal). For larger or business jobs via a quote: after your approval you receive an invoice with a payment term of 14 days.
5

Can I design my clothing myself online?

Yes — that's exactly what Merch-Master is made for. Click "Start designing", choose your product and colour, upload your logo and drag it to the right spot. You see live in your browser how your shirt, hoodie or bag will look. You can scale, rotate and place the logo in several spots (front, back, chest). No design skills or separate software needed.
6

What is DTF full colour print and which designs does it work best for?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) is a modern printing technique that works on almost any fabric. It's ideal when you want to print many colours or photos — DTF gives full colours without limits. The prints are flexible, stretch with the fabric, and feel soft. DTF is perfect for individual pieces (t-shirts, hoodies, bags) and small to medium quantities. You can order from 1 piece.
7

What is screen printing and when do you use it?

Screen printing is a classic technique that works best for simple designs with few colours (ideal: 1–4 colours). It's cost-effective in large quantities (minimum 25 pieces) because the cost per piece pays off quickly. Screen printing gives a durable, professional result — the ink really sits in the fabric, not on top of it. The perfect choice for teams, clubs or merchandise in bulk.
8

What is embroidery and who is it suitable for?

Embroidery gives your garment a premium look — it feels great and looks professional. Ideal for caps, jackets, polos and workwear. Embroidery doesn't work for detailed photos, but it's perfect for logos, initials and text. The price is set per request depending on size and complexity. No fixed minimum quantity.
9

How do I order embroidered clothing?

Embroidery always goes via a custom quote — you can't pay for it directly online. Request a quote, and you'll receive a proposal and (after approval) an invoice.
10

How do I choose which technique is best for my design?

A simple step plan: many colours or a photo? → DTF. A simple logo, 1–4 colours, large quantities (25+)? → Screen printing. A premium look on caps/jackets, a logo or text? → Embroidery. Not sure? Get in touch — we'll help you choose!
11

Can you also do all-over printing — where the whole garment is printed?

No. All-over print means the fabric is printed first, after which the garment is sewn. We print on finished garments — so all-over printing isn't possible for us. Want a design that "fills" the garment? Then go for a large front print via DTF.
12

Can you also print my own textile or garment?

In some cases, yes — but always get in touch first before you send anything. Important: printing your own textile is entirely at your own risk. If a garment turns out not to be printable, or if there are complaints about the quality or washability of the end result, we don't offer compensation. After all, we can't guarantee the quality and composition of external textile.
13

Which file formats do you accept for designs?

Best: vector files (AI, EPS, PDF). These scale infinitely without quality loss — perfect for printing at any size. High-resolution PNG files (minimum 300 dpi) also work fine. Avoid JPG and GIF — these are limited in quality. Not sure about your file? Upload it in the online design tool — we automatically check whether it's sharp enough, and our team then reviews it manually.
14

Why does my design need a transparent background?

Very important: your design must have a transparent background (no white, black or coloured background around it). That's the only way we can print your design exactly in the right spot on the garment. Otherwise a coloured background gets printed along with it and looks odd. Make sure your design has a transparent background in a program like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop (the checkerboard pattern = transparent).
15

How do I make sure my design prints sharp and not blurry?

Three tips: (1) resolution at least 300 dpi (not 72 dpi!), (2) make your design at the same size you want to print (not much bigger/smaller), (3) don't use exotic fonts that might not be available — convert letters to shapes (outline). When in doubt, we send you a digital proof — you approve or change it, then we print.
16

Can I upload my own design or do you help with design?

Both! You can upload your own design (see the previous question for file formats). We check everything and send a digital proof for approval. For custom design (logos, illustrations, layout) get in touch — we're happy to help and make a quote.
17

I don't have a digital file of my logo — can you still work with it?

Only if the image is of sufficient quality. We need at least 300 DPI and a transparent background. A photo of a logo on a business card, a screenshot or a low-resolution JPG usually isn't usable. Do you have a high-quality scan? Send it along via the contact form — then we'll see if it works.
18

Do you also offer graphic services? Can you design my logo?

We're a textile printer, not a design agency. We don't design logos or illustrations from scratch. We expect you to supply a print-ready file (PNG 300 dpi or vector file). Need a small tweak to an existing file? Get in touch — we'll look at how far we can help. For a completely new logo we recommend a graphic designer.
19

Why do more colours cost more money?

With screen printing: each extra colour means an extra screen. That costs material and preparation. With DTF: not really — you can print as many colours as you want at no extra cost (full colour!). That's why DTF is better for colourful designs and screen printing for simple ones.
20

How do I choose colours? Do you work with Pantone or hexadecimal codes?

Both! You can use Pantone numbers (PMS) for screen printing and hex codes (#FF5733) for DTF. Upload your design and tell us which colours you want — we'll suggest whether you want your design in full colour DTF or in limited-colour screen printing. For screen printing we match colours against our colour books so you know exactly what you'll get.
21

How long does a printed garment last? How do you care for it?

DTF prints last at least 50 washes and stay supple and colour-fast. Screen printing lasts even longer — sometimes 100+ washes. Tips: wash on a low spin (30°C) and turn the garment inside out before washing. Good care = years of enjoyment from your print!
22

How long does it take before my order is ready?

After approval of your digital proof we get started right away: DTF 5–8 working days, screen printing 10–14 working days, embroidery 10–14 working days. You always see the current delivery times right in the online design tool for your chosen technique. The delivery time only starts after your approval of the print proof.
23

Do I have a rush option?

Yes, a rush is possible in many cases. For a rush order we charge +40% on the print costs. Get in touch first so we can check whether your deadline is feasible — then we'll confirm the delivery date.
24

Can I get a sample or test print first?

A physical test print is only possible via DTF, because you can order from 1 piece there. Screen printing and embroidery have a minimum run and aren't suited to single samples — for those techniques get in touch and we'll think along with you. Note: for every order you always receive a free digital print proof for approval before we go into production.
25

Can I see a proof before you start?

Yes, always. After your order we send you a digital proof by e-mail (an accurate representation of your logo on the product). You check the position, size and colours — then approve by e-mail. Only then do we start production. You can also always check the status of your order via the link in your confirmation e-mail. Have a comment or want to change something? Let us know before you give approval — after approval and production start, changes are unfortunately no longer possible.
26

Do you have sustainable or eco-friendly options?

Yes! We have organic cotton (GOTS certified), recycled materials and Fair Wear certified brands in our range. Choose your favourite product in the online design tool — sustainable variants are marked.
27

How is my order delivered?

Orders are shipped via PostNL, DHL, DPD or UPS — depending on the size and destination of your parcel. After shipping you receive a track & trace code by e-mail so you can follow your parcel. The shipping time after production is usually 1–2 working days within the Netherlands.
28

What happens if my design isn't suitable, and can I cancel or change it?

No worries — if your design needs adjustments, we're happy to help. As long as your order hasn't gone into production, you can change the design, switch the technique or cancel your order by getting in touch with us. Once produced it's no longer possible — so check your proof carefully!
29

What are the washing instructions for printed clothing?

General rule: always wash at 30°C, turn the garment inside out and don't use a dryer. DTF prints are flexible and wash-resistant — avoid high temperatures and the dryer. Screen printing is very durable and lasts decades with correct use. Embroidery is wash-resistant, but avoid hot programmes to protect the threads. Also always check the label in your garment for fabric-specific washing advice.
30

I want to start my own clothing brand or fashion label — can you help me?

Certainly! We're happy to help with printing and finishing for your own label — from a small pilot run to larger runs. Get in touch via the contact form or send an e-mail to info@merch-master.com. Then we'll discuss the options and make a custom quote.
31

I'm not happy with my order — what should I do?

We're sorry to hear that! Get in touch as soon as possible via e-mail (info@merch-master.com) with your order number and a clear description or photo of the problem. We'll look for a suitable solution together. Keep in mind that complaints about print quality are harder to assess when a deviating artwork or wrongly specified colours are the cause — which is why we always send a digital proof for approval first.
